I drove my grandpas grand marquis for a week and pulled over one of my friends when he did a hard launch in an industrial park. Once he figured out it was me he gave me the finger and drove off. I laughed hysterically.

Funny story, and he had no bad intentions with this, but my friend got pulled over in his old F-150 for impersonation because he had LED Christmas lights in his cab. They were normal LEDs, but looked blue. He just wanted Christmas lights in his cab.

I caught shit for backlighting the VW badge in my grille once.
I used a blue LED, and got pulled over for it. The office told me that blue was reserved for police, and that I could be mistaken (in the Vanagon) for a police vehicle.
I resisted replying with,
“If it’s so convincing, how did you ever figure out I wasn’t one?”
but the officer made it clear in the first half of the lecture that he wasn’t the playful type.
I changed it to white immediately afterwards.

This is half the reason I love Texas. Blues are ok as long as they’re not flashing.
I put up a post here on Oppo a couple months back about how I put blue LEDs on my bike (as in bicycle, not motorcycle) and a few people chimed in concern trolling that I was breaking the law. Like... dudes/dudettes... This is Texas. I know the law in my state. I’ve written about bicycle safety and traffic laws that pertain to cyclists. And furthermore, since when do bicycle cops have blue lights on the wheels of their hot pink bikes? Heh.
